You Don't Have a Business, You Have an Expensive Job with Sarah Greener | Ep 43

I wanted Sarah on the show because floristry is so female dominated, and because I see mums at the flower markets at 2am with babies strapped to their chests. I don't have that lived experience. Sarah does, and she has the frameworks to go with it.

We talk about the feather, the brick and the truck, and how most of us don't stop until something forces us to. For Sarah it was Christmas Day. For me it was a rotator cuff injury in the middle of an 80 wedding year, when I couldn't drive a car or make a bouquet without crying.

We also get into why the fix is never inside the business first. Sarah's clients start with what they want their life to look like in ten years, then build the business backwards from there. She calls it decade decisions: taking a cheap wedding for cash flow makes sense today, and looks very different when you run it through the filter of how many hours you'll be working in five years to earn the same money.
